I have a toshiba laptop and I needed to replace the hard drive. I am attempting to install windows 7 on it but I get a blue screen when install the disc "boot failure: a proper digit signature was not found. One of the files on the selected boot device was rejected by the secure boot feature". Any ideas what I should do? Any help is greatly appreciated.

this is in the bios.
Once into the Boot Options menu, you will first find "Secure Boot" and disable it. Still in the Boot Options menu, find "Legacy Boot" and change it to enabled. You will now be able to boot into your Windows 7 installation media. Depending upon whether you will be installing it from a disc or a USB key, you will want to change the Legacy Boot Order so that either the optical drive or USB device take priority. Finally, exit the BIOS, saving changes.

Thanks for the help. That seemed to work but the problem I am having now is that it tells me windows in loading files. Does that for about 10 minutes then goes to a screen with the windows icon, says starting windows and sits there for hours. Any ideas why? Am I not being patient enough? It hasn't even asked me for any certificate of authenticity, license, etc.

bootup on your win7 disk. it will ask you do you want to do an upgrade or a custom install( going by memory), select the bottom 1 of the 2 options. It will check for a hard drive & tell you what you have in size. select new, select the size of partition(which you have to do) & if a 1tb hard drive then partition it into 2 tho windows will also make a 100meg partition for itself. format the 1 or more partitions you made but not the 1 windows made then click install.

I get 1 option, and and advanced option if u press F8. If I press F8 it goes to " windows is loading files". Then gives me several options after about 3-4 minutes of loading. They are advanced options for set up: " safe mode", safe mode with networking", "safe mode with command prompt", " enable boot logging", "enable low res video", " last known good configuration", " directory service restore mode", "debugging mode", " disable auto restart on system failure", " disable driver signature enforcement" and start windows normally. At the bottom of the screen it gives a description of each function you select.
