Help Overheating Laptop!

Hey guys, my mom's laptop is overheating and she blames it on me even when I don't go on it she says it is the Extension for the internet.. I can't even click on anything in the laptop. Can someone help?

Start by cleaning it out good with a can of compressed air and listen to see if the internal fan(s) are working and actually moving air.

Then check on the CPU utilization with no programs running to see if something has gotten installed that shouldn't be there.
