Help to connect TV to speakers

Solution
Since analog audio outputs are not common these days on TVs there is a good change you are trying to use an input as an output. Won't work.
If the TV has a heaphone out use that.
If the TV has optical digital audio out (most common type of TVs) then you will need an optical audio to analog converter.

You may need to turn the optical output on, the TV speakers off, and change the audio output type to PCM or 2 channel.
All in the TV audio menu.
The optical output is fixed in level so the TV remote will no control the volume.

Maybe a picture? For all we know you have the yellow plug going into an IPAD, we just don't know what you're doing.

Do you have a receiver with amplifier you're using?
Are you using HDMI? Is the RCA coming from your source or the TV's Audio out?
There are so many ways to mess this up, we really need a better idea.

Have you tested the speakers with another device using the 3.5mm jack (like your phone, or a tablet), to make sure the speakers actually work? Are you using the RCA out jack on the tv, and not input jacks? I am not familiar with that tv, I am just guessing it may have both.

Greens:
Those speakers have a built in amplifier and have 1-RCA input and 2- 3.5mm input jacks. We would need to know more about the Samsung smart tv (specific model) in order to know it's connections for outputting line-level audio.
