HELP!!!! what does this mean and how do i fix it?

Hello,
when i turn on my lap top i get a blue screen with a thing saying "hard disk self test 05% complete #10008 replace hard disk 1" what does this mean and how would i fix it?

It means your hard drive is failing and needs to be replaced.
If you have important data that is not on backup do not use the computer until you can replace the hard drive.
Hard disk 1 is usually your second hard drive. Your primary drive is usually Hard drive "0".

Yeah you're gonna want to get this looked at quickly.. your hard drive is definitely failed/failed. Try and get any data you can from it.. and then check with the manufacturer to see if it's still in warranty as you may get a replacement.

Unfortunately, if a hard drive is failing there is no "fix" as such.. More like a "OMG QUICK SAVE THE FILES"

Try using a hard drive caddy to connect the hard drive externally to another computer and hope for the best that you can save the files.
