And what would run better, this laptop or the Qosmio Q870 (same specs except; 720p screen res, 4gb of ram, 360m nVidia graphics card). This is in terms of gaming of course, I realize both these laptops will run school work and all that flawlessy.

Thanks in advance!!!

Will the Q870 be able to handle COD6 and COD4 at high to max settings (or atleast better the the x500 i7 720/GTS 250M) with the i7 720/GTS 360M?

Also, how difficult is it to add a better ram chip in toshiba laptops?

Thanks

Great thanks, if price was irrelevant would you recommend getting the q870 or the x500? as in the one with the 360m or 250m

Sorry, worded that wrong, there's a price difference between those two laptops. I was saying if price didn't matter, which one of these would be a better gaming laptop.

The differences are

x500
1080p Higher res
5400 RPM HDD
6gb of ram

Q870
Better/Newer graphics card
720p res
7200 RPM HDD
4gb of ram

Everything else I believe is the same. So which would be able to run games with higher graphics?

Thanks

i think he or she is useing a laptopat least the gts250m is a laptop card

imo of corse that will run any newer game that thing is a nice set up( (beast off a laptop)

this is another can my new fancy set up up run this thread to get pep replying to it ..

if the op had said can my pent 4 with a 1650 vid card and 2 gigs of ram .....??..??

than it would have been worth the the time it took my to replie to this

i mean for pete's sakes its an i5 ( know brainier ) with the gts 250 he's golden as far as bf bc2 or cod 4 or 5 and crysis at med to low settings
either way nice lappy

Sorry man, I haven't actually purchased either of these yet. I'm trying to pick between them, and if both laptops have the i7 720 would it be smarter to get the one with the GTS 360m graphics card or the one with GTS 250m graphics card and 2 extra gb's of ram

ram is allways a sure beat when it comes to up grading your pc so i would say get the gts250 with the extra 2 gigs of ram for a total of 4 gigs............

but either way you have a real sweat rig there ............good luck and have fun with it

Thanks for the great help, just another question or so.

How do you think a laptop with the
i7 720 (2.8 ghz turbo mode)
GTS 250m graphics (1 gb GDDR5 discrete)
and 6gb of GDDR3 ram

would run COD6? like what settings, I've heard mixed things, a lot of maxed out settings but a few medium to highs, you seem to be quite knowledgeable so I appreciate your input

Thanks

Sorry for my misunderstanding at first :)
Between those i would go for the second one because 4GB vs 6GB won't make much of a difference but a GTS 360M is faster than a GTS 250M
