Hey all, bit of a audio noob.

So i have these 5.1 surround sound speakers in my room and want to hook it up to my PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. Im pretty sure i need a splitter but dont know which one.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B009ZR7IB8/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3MOVVCWVN4QG0&coliid=IO1W2LD6HIA82&psc=1 (click on the last product option)

The link above is the audio splitter i was looking to purchase, the obvious thing would be to connect my ps3 and xbox to the optical port. and have an aux cable going to my pc.

Does anyone see any issue with that ? or is that the best way to go around it. i dont really want to spend £40 on something then find it doesnt work. many thanks :)

I don't think that will work. It's not really an amp just a signal converter. If you don't have a device to amplify the sound, it will be incredibly weak coming out of your speakers. I understand you as you have five speakers and a sub with one single rca connector on the end?
