Help with headphones/mic

When I plug in my headphones my computer repeats what I say into the mic back into my headphones. The mic is built into my laptop. Also, when I am not speaking, I can hear my mouse clicking and keyboard typing in my headphones, which is very loud.

I messed around with the Stereo Mix the other day to record something online and now it's been very horrible lately. i will appreciate every answer. thanks.

You should just have to go into Windows volume control, find your microphone's volume slider under recording devices, and there should be a little check box, or picture of a speaker next to it that you can click on to mute that device's playback. It will still record, you just won't hear it playing over your headphones/speakers.

I've completely reset my headphones and my mic, and I can hear fine. However, I cannot speak into Discord with it.
