Help with this please

I have just brought the Samsung HF-F5500 home entertainment system and the Samsung UE42F5000AK TV but I cannot get the TV sound to play through the entertainment system does anyone have any ideas I have tried all i know.

Connect the optical audio output of the TV to the input on the HTiB.
