Hi I am looking for gaming laptop that can run Sims 2, Sims 3 and Tomb Raider and able to sync to iphone 5 and the ipad. Also I filmmaker and thinking about going to school. I can afford under $1000 what do you suggest?

This is alright except you're paying over $200 more for nearly identical parts and no performance benefit.

"I'm hesitant to buy from established brands" - Well... that's something you don't hear every day. On that idealism you don't want an intel or amd. Established brands, regardless of who makes them are still just as good as the next guy. Are you doing / saying this because you want to seem like your helping the little guy, or do you have a legit reason behind the non established brand purchasing?

Those are not some big demanding games so i would fo with an acer v3 a dell inspiron or an hp pavilon .
they are all equiped with an i5 or i7 3d generation proccessor and a gt 750 and 6gb of ram . They are under 870$ you can play tombraider in a steady 60fps on med/ultra with them . Same to the sims ou can also make movies at high quality . But you can't synv it with apple products cause you need a macbook or an apple laptop.
I have an acer v3 772g and it's epic i can run gta 5 on high settings and it costed me just 920$ these are the specs :
-i5 4th generation
-nvidia gtx 750 2gb
-8gb ram
-750 gb harddrive
