Hello all!
We have received a surplus of money at our school and are looking to spend it on a high speed camera.

We currently have a budget of around 2500-3000 and need something that can do atleast 1000fps!

Thanks for taking your time to read this!

Unless you're looking for junk quality 1k FPS, you're missing 1-2 zeros at the end of your budget.

If you're willing to go with 240fps, which is about the highest any consumer equipment goes without scanlining, maybe something like:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1203955-REG/z_camera_e1cam3a701_e1_mini_4k_video.html
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1109328-REG/sony_fdr_x1000v_4k_action_cam.html
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1109408-REG/panasonic_hc_wx970_4k_ultra_hd_camcorder.html

If you insist on 1000fps with more than ~200x100 pixel resolution, you'll need to get something from http://www.highspeedcameras.com/Products/Phantom-Camera-Products . Just know ahead of time your budget is 1/100th of what you need .
