Question Hitachi le65k6r9 tv wont turn on. why?

Tv will not power on and has no stand by LED. After removing the cables that run from the power board to the main board and checking the stand by voltage on the power board it is as what it should be. However, when having all the cables plugged in the stand by voltage reduces to about 3 volts of its supposed 5 and fluctuates. Checking the other pins results in a non stable voltage less than what is printed on the pcb. There is also a faint but obvious popping noise that what I would assume is a short of some sort. Any ideas of what may be happening?

I also have the same problem. There is no replacement board available. It is a shame nobody is making new ones.

My best guess is it's an ic or something that handles standby voltages but I don't want to risk shorting something else
