Holding ANY key crashes laptop

Brand new laptop, just got it for school from school, and as of today is a week old. Acer Aspire E 15. Yesterday, my brightness was locked at maximum, so I have to reinstall my drivers every time I start it, but now if I hold ANY key for longer than one solid second, it crashes immediately and then starts right up as if I put it in sleep mode, except nothing gets saved. I’m sending it out Monday but I absolutely need the laptop for school so sending it out isn’t my favorible option. Only program ever installed was Steam. I’ve heard too many stories about not getting laptops back so I don’t even want to do this, I feel like I literally just lost $700 and will have to buy a new and be out even more money. Still got a warranty but...Any ideals? (Did a full PC reset as well, still no luck)

If it is brand new and giving you problems take it back to them and have them exchange/replace it or repair it.
