I've thrown together a home theatre system. Starting out first with a tv, then sound bar, and deciding to go louder. Below is the current problem:

60" TV connected by Digital Coax to Vizio 2 channel Sound Bar. Sound bar connected to a Boss Amp which is powered by a 12v DC power converter, and connected to 1 12" sub.

specs:
-12v 30ª DC universal Regulated Switching Power Supply 360w
-Audiohahn AW1206T 12inch 2200w Dual 4-ohm Subwoofer
-Boss AR1500M 1500 Watt Mono Mosfet Amp
-8 gauge amp wiring
-Vizio SB3820-C6 38 inch 2.0 Channel Sound Bar
-HD 3.5mm AUX to RCA cable w/dual shielding gold plated high end metal shell

With Aux cable connected to SUB OUT on Sound Bar, only a loud hum comes from the subwoofer, no beats or anything from the audio that may playing. When a Ground Loop Isolator is added to aux cable from amp to sound bar, NO sound at all comes from Subwoofer.

Here's a Diagram of wiring:

wall outlet---->TV--->sound bar--(ground loop isolator)------->amp---->sub

wall outlet---->power converter----->amplifier

TV and sound bar are plugged into the same surge protector to a wall outlet

Power converter 3 prong is connected separately to a different surge protector at a different wall outlet.

Vizio manual suggests that the sub woofer output is all the way down by default. They say to press the BASS button on the remote and then use the prev/next buttons to raise the bass elvel half way up. Then connect and turn on the sub. Adjust volume from there. You may still need the ground loop isolator but a 3-2 AC ground lift might be needed too on the power supply. You might have three ground loops rather than two.

Thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately I did try that and to no avail...I quickly plugged the aux into a device playing music and sound instantly went to the sub... I'm guessing that the sound bar is defective to some extent. I think my next move might be to get a receiver so the sub and sound bar can work from there instead of sound bar playing as the main hub.
