Depends on what you're trying to do. If you're trying to record DirecTV using the VCR, it's not likely going to work. If you just want to view so VHS tapes on your HDTV, you would want to connect your VCR's composite (yellow) output to your TV's composite input. You would also need to connect your VCR's audio output (white) to your TV's analog audio inputs (red/white) using a "Y" cable.

Trying to hook up Samsung 32 inch TV, model UN32J4000AF, Genie Mini and Emerson VCR Model VCR755. There is no HDMI on the VCR. I have tried the red, white and yellow wiring. There is only a Cable input on both TV and VCR, but no Cable out source plug on TV.

RCA from out ports on vcr to in on tv. select the av as source on tv
