I have an ancient Toshiba SR-F335 turntable with a red & white RCA output. I plugged that into a PYLE Mini Phono Preamp. From there I ran a red & white RCA cable that combines into a small jack that fits the Aux. on my Toshiba TY-SBX1020 Soundbar. It doesn't work. I have tried an RCA to coax cable too without success. I'm just winging this setup as I know nothing about audio electronics. Am I missing something, do I need an analog to digital converter also? I'd be grateful if someone could put an 81 year old grandma on the right path to listen to her albums from the 60's.

Have you tried connecting the turntable directly without the pre-amp?

Also, when connected as you did, did you cycle through the ports, selecting aux?
