Solved! hooking up pioneer receiver to samsung led tv

I need help hooking up a pioneer vsx-D412 to my Samsung led TV un55j6300af , no DVD involved just TV to receiver , Thank you for your time

You need to connect a toslink optical audio cable from the TV to the receiver.
You may have to turn the optical output on and the TV speakers off in the TV menu. Set the audio to bitstream 5.1.
Select the optical input of the receiver. It may have to be assigned to an input name. Check the manual.
