I can't use my Hp laptop cause my screen is broken so I'm unable to see anything on it so I tried hooking it to my flat screen using a HDMI cord it shows up on my tv but soon as I try to do anything on it, it goes blank them my tv says no signal can you please help me with this I have so much work I must do using my laptop and I'm unable to do so

what HP laptop is it? there is usually a function combination to force the video to use only the external port, FN + F4 is suggested by HP but you would need to check the F* keys on your laptop to be sure.
