Hot key to switch default playback device?

Is there any way to create a hot key to switch my play back device on the fly without having to bring out the sound panel every time I'd like to switch?

I did this a while back with a program called AutoHotKey. Worked well enough on my Windows XP system. Not sure about any later Windows versions.

I agree with Wolfshadw, Autohotkey or autoit is the way to go. And works on windows 7, 8, 10 and their forums are super helpful.
