How best to physically clean my laptop???

Hi folks, I was wondering what's best to use for cleaning my laptop? Specifically cleaning my keyboard and screen...

I tried using a 'microfiber' cloth and it was terrible - there's fibers all over my screen now. Any ideas on how best to remove the fibers now? (Are microfibers actually safe? I wonder about them being inhaled etc).

I prefer not to use any chemicals, so if you have any solutions for cleaning that would be much appreciated. Also, if you could let me know what to avoid that would be great!

Well most microfiber cloths do not have many loose fibers as they are used to clean jewelry or eye glasses. Im assuming the microfiber cloth your using is either very low quality or not a microfiber cloth. I use microfiber cloths to clean my laptop keyboard, like this below.

Yep, I think the microfiber cloth must be low quality (cost around $1).
Though it does look a lot like the one you showed in the pic.
Any ideas on how to 'recover' from all the microfibers now on my screen and laptop? What's best to catch them?

By the way, I have a USB mini-vacuum cleaner that I've not tried yet... not sure if it's a good idea?!

Yes I've learnt my lesson now with cheap microfiber products!

Do you think there's any possibility of harmful effects from the fibers now all over my laptop? I was wondering if they may pose a technical risk (to my laptop) or health risk (breathing in the synthetic fibers)?

Are there any specific lint-free cloths/materials you might recommend? In the past I've just grabbed an old cotton t-shirt or cotton-rich socks and wiped with those!

I also have a cheap USB mini-vacuum (similar to the ones mentioned here: http/www.vacuumsguide.com/keyboard-usb-mini-vacuum-cleaners/) which I've not tried yet. Do you think this would be safe to use? I've read people saying about static build-up from using other electrical items when cleaning their computers and wondered if this might be an issue if I used the USB mini-vacuum externally (i.e. on the keyboard etc) on the laptop?

I was also considering placing some sellotape (tape) on the laptop and pealing it off to remove the fibers, would this be a good idea?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm just a bit concerned what to do now after using the cheap microfiber.

Slightly dampened old cotton t-shirt sounds good.
And what do you think about the USB mini-vacuum? Fine to use?
