need to reset my toshiba satalite l15w but the hdd will do nothing. is there anyway I can do it?

There is no way to reset it if the drive is not working. You would need to replace the drive.

I get that I guess I should have phrased it do I need other media to reset it. but I just ordered the media from toshiba

Again, a reset won't help if the drive is the problem. You will, however, need the media to install on a new drive.
