How can i update my nextbook ares 11.6 inch tablet to the newest or more current firmware version then Android 5.0?

Ive had this nextbook ares 11.6 inch tablet/tabtop for a bit and its currently running android version 5.0, is there any known working andriod versions that are compatible with this device that are more current?

If there is nothing listed as an update in the settings of the tablet for that device, then there are no updates for it. To put any newer version of Android on it would require you root the device, which I would not recommend, as that can brick a device.
