I want to play on the laptop, while someone else is doing something on a monitor connected to the laptop. Say, I want to make an essay, but someone else wants to play, and I have a laptop, with a monitor connected to it. How do I divide these screens, so I could do my thing, while the other person does their thing?

You can do this on linux or use a multi seat software in windows. I don't know of any free ones though.
