What kind of plugs do you have on the TV and the laptop?

Did you go into the TV controls and switch the input to the where you plugged in the laptop?

I use HDMI from cable box to TV .... when using lappie, unlug HDMI from cable box and plug into lappie.... since both sources are HDMI to the TV, no further effort req'd.

Unless you have 2 HDMI inputs, like I do.
No need to plug and unplug each time, just change the input, with the remote. 2 clicks, without getting off the couch.

That would be very difficult..... my laptop is rarely in the TV room ... would need a real long cable ...especially when I'm at the office or outta town.
