how do I get rid of black space on the side and top of my screen

My display does not fill my laptop screen leaving a wide band of black on the right and top

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help.
- Start by adjusting the screen settings in the graphics card control panel. (Intel, Nvidia or AMD)
- If it will not work do a clean install of the graphics driver.
- Go to Device Manager and uninstall the graphics driver.
- Next is to check Programs and Features then uninstall anything related to the graphics card.
- Once done, download and install the latest driver from the manufacturer site of the GPU.
- Reboot your laptop once the latest driver has been installed then test it again.
