How do I get speakers hooked into the back of a TV

I have some old speakers I'd like to hook into my TV, I do not have a area to hook it into what should I do?

I would not advise digging around in the back of a TV -- especially not a traditional CRT type - due to high voltages remaining present even with the power disconnected.

These days many people have separate boxes for cable, satellite or DVB and these often have line-out audio sockets (RCA/Phono shape) which can feed an amplifier and speakers. Not many have a feed for speakers alone.
