I got a xmas gift Acer laptop the person bought it from a pawn store did not come with a Manuel or code .. how do I find our if there is a spy app on it or anything that can be not on there?

Personally, I would wipe the system with a fresh new install of Windows to ensure nothing unwanted is installed.

Other options would be to perform full virus and malware scans with your anti-virus program and tools like Malwarebytes.

Completely nuke the os from orbit. Reinstall Windows from scratch. If it originally comes with Windows 8 then the key is in the bios.
