How do i open pictures from my i phone 8 to my dell laptop

I connected my phone to my dell laptop using usb to transfer some photos from my phone to my laptop but everytime i try to open a image it says it cannot be opened what do i do?

How did you do the transfer? Did you actually do a sync with the computer in iTunes? You can also do it using cloud storage easily, iCloud would work.
