how do I recover miscellaneous files I deleted from Android tablet?

I deleted all the miscellaneous files on my Android tablet when I was begin to make space on it.

Were they in the system folders or the external SdCard? If the latter, put it in a carrier and try data recovery on your PC. Does the device still work?
