Solved! How do I turn off the sound on my Toshiba TV?

The settings have no option for this. The TV sound is competing with my newly installed sound bar.
There are settings for sound, but no option for "OFF"

Update your post to include Toshiba TV model. Also include sound bar make and model.

How are you currently connecting them? Any other devices involved?

volume down on tv usualy does that trick

I'd agree. Just turn the volume down to 1 (0 might auto-mute with a mute symbol being displayed).

Are we talking about POWER OFF, or MUTE sound?

If your TV has a headphones-out jack - plug something there (like broken headphones)
