How do I unlock the pointer on a Lenovo laptop

The pointer on my laptop don't move at all and I don't know how to unlock it. I haven't tried using a mouse but I will. But for now what can I do.

Try doing a double tap on either the top right or top left corner of the mouse pad (I forget which). Some models of laptops have that set to enable/disable the mousepad.
