I recently moved from one state to another and I want to watch my local channels from back home. I would like to keep up with the news and watch my old local sports teams.
You may be able to use a VPN to make it seems as if you are still on a local ISP. That would make the entire content of a channel available if it's online.
Your previous local channels may stream the news via their websites. Otherwise, I think you are out of luck. The are all sorts of FCC rules that make crossing market boundaries very difficult.
Maybe people see this as me being old and frustrated but it seems like in 2019 I should be able to bring up the local news from anywhere anytime or watch my home team play because I can't be there to see them in person. I wish the rules would catch up to the times. Maybe I need a YouTube TV account and just bring it back and forth with me as I travel. I live in California now and there are a lot of people like me who want to see their channels from back home.
I fully understand. Would have loved to be able to access local news and events, in my previous career. Even YouTube TV is likely constrained by markets/ ZIP codes. Good luck.
