How do u change number into letter on lapptops

Hello,
their i would like to know how you change he number because when i press a letter on my lap top i get number not letter and i have to holf FN when i type to not get nmbers so could you try and give me some advise or solition please thanks

Are the numbers typed from keys on the right side of the board?

Is your NumLock LED light on?
