The celebration surely must go to castle of wolfenstein. I remember it clearly how the impact was at home and in the office when it came out. Every coffee break we had at work was game on then shortly after Doom came out and since we had a nice state of the art BNC network in the office we went mad on Doom in the breaks . It was though Castle of wolfenstein that set the pace for the game idea. then early on in the era of Doom we started making our own maps with some rudimentary map editors. changing the walls and so forth. hmmm seems the guys from those times ever stopped playing computergames Just on bigger and more expensive machines these days.
