How fast is this? Opinions? Help?

HP ENVY 15t-j100 Quad Edition laptop:

4th generation Intel® Core™ i7-4700MQ Processor (included)
12GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm) (upgraded)
1TB 5400rpm Hard Drive (included)

This is the laptop I ordered online. I'm not too much of a tech savvy person, but was just looking for input.

Would a 500-750gb 7200rpm Hybrid Hard Drive be better? Or does the 1tb 5400rpm Hard Drive make up for it?

Not sure what you are specifically referring to when you say fast? But the I7 is very fast to say the least, Im not sure what you plan on using your laptop for, if you plan on gaming, for example, you should get the GT 750M also. If you have no plans on gaming except maybe some browser games then the HD Graphics should be good enough

Also unless if you are doing some programming on you laptop, you dont need 12GB of memory. If you plan on gaming then get 8Gb is enough, if you no gaming than 6GB is good

Hybrid drive will give you better performance then a normal hard drive, but then again, some people just want storage dont really care about getting better storage performance especially as the cost of hybrid drives is quite high
