how hook up 4k box

Does a 4k Direct tv box need something done to it to get it to work other than just plug in the HDMI, cable and power? I hook it up and it tries to connect but screen just goes white.

Is it connected to an HDMI 2.0 input?
That's the only input that will accept a 4k signal and not all your HDMI inputs may be 2.0
Did you give the 4kDTV box time to boot?

Yes (HDMI). I talked to a tech and he said I need to set up the "Video Bridge" on those boxes. Haven't yet researched how. You ever hear of that?
