Headphone output should work fine to any line level analog input.
Set the music system volume to the level you usually use it for music.
Start with the TV volume all the way down and bring it up to where it is comfortable to listen to. This way when you switch to music it won't be too low or loud, You can overload the input of the music system if the TV volume is to high. This will cause noticeable distortion.
