How long could an Alienware laptop perform for?

I am considering an Alienware (Alienware because I like the design and yes to me that's worth the extra money) but even with an i5-4200M accompanied with a GTX 750M how long would that perform for until I had to dial down the settings to Medium?

Depending on the care you take, keeping dust out of it, watching temperatures etc a laptop can last for at least 4-6 years without a decrease in performace. The usual time it takes for pc components to degrade is something like 5 years.
