That thread is too old as intel changed the vram max. With windows 10, it's now up to 2gb. Some of it is still true like it doesn't have vram so uses ram and the max is reached around 4gb ram. 12gb is more than needed. https/www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000020962/graphics-drivers.html

The maximum RAM the Intel HD 4400 can address is 2GB.
