How to access Vizio e series menu without internet

My internet is disconnected. Without the smart cast app I cannot turn tv speakers on. No sound. It’s a 2016 E series

You don't need internet, you just need a WiFi connection to the TV using a router or even setting up a WiFi hotspot on a device and connect to that. Why can't you use the remote? I have no issues with audio using HDMI on probably the same model.
