How To Check What Third-Party Apps You Have Connected To Facebook

Ever since the recent Cambridge Analytica scandal, Facebook has been in a bad spotlight and for a good reason. As a direct result, a lot of people are even more privacy conscious than before, trying to reduce the social network’s access to their sensitive information.

But, Facebook isn’t the only one with access to your information. A lot of apps you use on Facebook or use via Facebook login have a great deal of info on you. It’s always a good idea to see which apps have that kind of access and how to limit them. Here is how you can check just that:

    ■ Open your favorite browser, type www.facebook.com in the address bar and press Enter.

    ■ If you’re not already logged in, press the Log In button after you enter your credentials.

    ■ On the Home page, find the down-arrow icon in the upper right corner of the page and click it.

    ■ Now, find the Apps and Websites on the bottom-left side of the page and click it.

    ■ On the Apps and Websites page, you can find all the apps that you use and that have access to your Facebook account (some specific information depending on the permissions you gave).

    ■ If you press the Expired tab, you will see all the apps that you used at one point, but haven’t recently used them (for more than 90 days, to be precise). They had access to your information at a specific time (and might still have it), but they can’t make any more requests for private info.

    ■ Once you see what apps you’ve connected to Facebook, you can click on any of them to review their access and change it to your liking.
