How to connect a Haier model 39D3005 tv to a RCA 37 inch soundbar

Attempting to connect an RCA soundbar, but all I get is a hum. The Bluetooth component works fine, but can't get sound from the tv

On many TVs you have to turn on the audio output in the TV menu.
You may also have to turn off the TV speakers and change the audio output type. Check the TV manual.
