How to connect a Samsung LED TV Model No. UA32EH4003R to the home theatre system. I think it does not have Audio out. Please suggest me a method

Solution
Below is my more detailed answer for this "Having no audio out function" on your TV question/solution (for future readers. Might be clearer than my shorter answer above:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a brand new 55" Samsung with ZERO audio outputs (go figure). My 55" Samsung is a model UN55FH6003F

To solve the problem of improving the sound quality versus using the original on-board internal Samsung TV speakers, I bought an HDMI switcher box that has three "separate" audio outputs as well as an HDMI output and 4 HDMI inputs..

So I have three HDMI inputs plugged currently "into" the new HDMI switcher box:
(1) HDMI from my cable box
(2) HDMI from my dvd...
Thanks for all your help Greg!
The box should arrive tonight. And it does have separate audio out. Before I found this thread, I thought my Onkyo Cinema system was DOA. Was about to return it!

Bad news!!!
The hdmi box I used doesn't work. It is a different model than the one you suggested. Here is a link to it, seems it should have worked:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008F29MZ4/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Anyway, I ordered the monoprice 5557 unit and am returning the one above. On a side note, I can get audio to my sound system through my cable box, using an hdmi cable and rca jacks out, but the issue is I have a Roku that needs to go to it too. Man, maybe I should have spent a few more bucks to get a better tv. Oh well. Hopefully the monoprice works out.

The 5557 should work fine. It also has enough HDMI inputs for your [1] cable box and your [2] Roku (and two more HDMI inputs for whatever else you have HDMI'ish).

You also can choose between Analog or Digital for your output to go into your Home Theater. Choose a Digital coax cable if you have it as an option on your Home Theater input.

Let me know how it works.

Greg

Hey Greg,

Bad news. I received the 5557 switch box and it didn't work. No matter what I tried. Didgital coax, stereo, 2.1 vs 5.1 nothing no sound. With the tv I have, I read there is no audio out over hdmi. It is missing. this is the tv:

My TV really has absolutely no audio out period. Shame really for watching movies. That's why I'm going to return it and get a better tv with more options!! I've only had this one for 7 days so returning won't be a problem. Sometimes going for the cheapest option isn't the way to go. Anyway, thanks for all your help!!

Your tv is basically the 65" model of the 55" I have.

Sorry about that. I actually do not understand.

The type/manufacture of your TV doesn't matter as you are actually running around it with the 5557. The audio works independently of the TV.

---Your cable box HDMI to the 5557 (select the correct button on the 5557)
---then audio out of the 5557 right to the home theater without EVER connecting any HDMI cable to the tv
should give you (at least) sound/audio out of the home theater.

Did you try plain old audio (red/white RCA) analog out of the 5557 into the home theater (or any other audio device) , just for curiosity?

Sorry about that.

Yes Greg, I did try RCA out of the 5557 to the sound system. No sound. I just gave up. It shouldn't be this hard. Even if I somehow figured it out it wasn't worth the aggravation. Any way I returned it with no trouble and got a new Samsung smart tv with plenty of ports. Right out of the box the surround system was working. Sometimes you get what you pay for. The new TV has a better picture too. Worth the $300 more. Thanks for all your help.

I also have this tv I noticed an auxiliary jack on the back below all the plugs. Believe u should be able to plug into there and run it into an audio in onto your surround receiver

Thank you gregates. I just ordered my monoprice for mainly the audio out for gaming. Your post made it easy to decide what I needed. I bought a 65" Samsung at Christmas for a great deal and knew it didn't have much to offer in the way of hooking up devises but I was only gonna use it for gaming and I never in a million years would have imagined that it would not have an audio out.

I think I'm having similar problem and really could use some help. I have an lg 42ln5200 tv it has a/v input, component input and hdmi input. No output that I am aware of. I get basic cable free in my apartment complex so I do not have a cable box. I have a blu ray that has outports. I recently just bought a sound bar (samsung HM-FM35) it has a/v input and optical input. I bought the mono price HDMI switcher thinking I could plug an HDMI input from the tv to the outport on the switcher. Then plug my optic cord from the switcher to the sound bar. That didn't work. Please please tell me if there is anyway I can get the sound from my terrible tv to my soundbar!!!

Hi there,

Seems I just joined the community of people with audio problems!

I have just bought a TV for the first time in my life and have gone all out and bought cable TV and a surround sound system too.

Samsung LED TV Series 4 4003 32"
Trumove Cable Set top box (Thailand)
5 speaker surround sound

Photos of the ports shared via dropbox:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/hyhhq5wz8qsc8ae/AAC1Jim2hKCeoyGLT1DL9u0da

I have:
* the set top box connected to the TV via HDMI
* the set top box connected to the Speaker system via Red/White cable (I think that's called RCA right?)

The speakers work great on the cable TV although when I put a USB stick into the TV to play a movie I can't get audio through the speakers, only audio through the TV speakers.

I have tried connecting a second Red/White cable from the TV to the Speakers although that doesn't seem to work. After finding this article it would appear that my TV has no "Audio Out" only "Audio In"?

Seems the HDMI Switcher that Greg suggested would be a good thing to try, however I am hoping someone can try to confirm this for me before I buy one :)

Please help a newbie!!
Thanks in advance!!

Would this switcher allow me to still control the volume of the sound via my TV remote? The problem I'm having is that my external sound system has no volume control and my Samsung 55" optical audio output is set at one very loud volume setting meaning I can't use the external speakers at all. If I use a 3.5mm cable straight into the headphone jack I get a lot of of feedback, even though it works and I can control the volume via my TV's remote. It would be good to know if the work around via an HDMI switcher will allow the volume to be changed via my current TV Remote. Also, once setup do I need to use the box manually at all or can it just do its thing? I noticed a few people mentioning a remote so I wouldn't want to use it every time I switch devices. Is it purely to turn the device on?

Many thanks in advance...

Jack

without reading the 10 posts by each previous user i'll give you a simple answer. run HDMI from cable box to surround system, then from surround system to TV.

this remote claims it works with your surround system so volume control should be an option with it:
@Amazon

Then how does one use the led TV remote to control the volume when playing video/audio from the USB port of the LED.. will it still help to control the volume with the LED tv remote !??

I hope this message gets posted to this specific subject thread as I found it particularly interesting. I'm brand new to this digital flatscreen TV world as well, having just purchased a LG 50" LED TV for my new home. I am disappointed in the sound from the 'stock TV' and wished to try and experiment with some external speaker sets I have. But I do not seem to find any audio outputs on the back of the TV. Being 'old school' I was looking for some RDC or mini such connectors like this.
,....don't seem to exist?

So I began to wonder how I might get an audio signal out of this TV and feed it to a real nice old style amplifier to power those external speakers I wanted to experiment with. ( I am somewhat familiar with those 'sound bars' they are selling as accessories, but I do not really consider them that good as a speaker source, and I was hoping not to add 'multiple, multiple' remote controls that I see many friends get confused with... :).

It appears as though I must contend with either this new 'optical output connection' or an HDMI connector,....but I don't think either of these can be routed into a good old style amplifier one can pick up at numerous thrift shops??

I'm also looking to cut down any TV cable bills and go with just a good internet connection that will support 'streaming video' and internet. I've been told to get a Roku box and subscribe to Netflix, and maybe a few others, then my free local TV channels over the existing antenna. If I do this will I be able to get audio output to my 'external speakers' thru that box?.....or it sounds as though I should invest in one of these switcher boxes suggested by Gregates?

thanks for any help, Brian

So I have an issue along the above problems too. I just bought a 40" Samsung TV model # UN40H5500AF thought I could hooki it up to my Philips DVD/Home Theater system Couldn't do that because the tv doesn't have the same audio in/out as the system It has the HDMI or Digital Audio out but my system has the older coax/rca audio plugs. I bought the above metioned HDMI box but no luck on getting anything to work with the box. I can use the dvd and hear sound out of the home theater with the dvd but really wanted to use it for the tv as well. I do not have a cable box or such because I don't have cable I just use Hulu Netflix excetera Is there any way to get the sound to work for just the regular shows? I hate to buy a sound system for the tv when the other one works for the dvds, its hardly used and in good shape. Don't want to buy new dvd player sound etc just for this!!

Hi All. I am sharing some information that might be useful to some people. Samsung's UH9000 comes with a "One Connect" integrator. When I set it up, I had to make a decision: stick with my Bose Lifestyle AV35 integrating / harmonizing approach, or switch the wiring over to the Samsung One Connect. I tried going with the Bose approach first, which is what I've been using... but then I realized that the Samsung approach was one step closer to the perfect solution.

Bose Lifestyle approach upside: plug all source inputs (using HDMI, etc.) into the back of it, then use the harmonizing remote control to choose onscreen which source you want to view, and use just the one remote and volume control to do all the switching. The downsides are: the one harmonizing remote does not include the "Smart" TV components, as those are basically the computer within the TV. So when you want to use the Smart functionality, you have to use two remotes, one for the TV, one for the volume. (On the back of the Bose, one HDMI connection goes out to the TV carrying the image signal.)

In my quest for one remote, I switched over to the Samsung One Connect. Same idea... Plug all the source inputs from cable TV, Google Chromecast, Blu-ray player, game, etc. into the One Connect integrator. Plus, choose either an HDMI connection from the Bose Lifestyle or optical audio connection method to send the sound out to the Bose system. Upside: all inputs into one device, and one remote control again is the source selector, including the Smart app functionality of the TV. Downside: even though the Samsung setup allows me to designate the Bose system as the home theatre sound system, and passes the connection check by turning it on and off, in the sound setup you need to make a choice of either the TV speakers or the external speakers. You wouldn't want both, and with the Bose system connected, you want the external speakers, not the TV speakers. And this is where it falls one step short of perfection: on screen it says that you can't use the Samsung remote to control the external speaker volume. Either way you cut it, you need two remotes... but at least with the Samsung One Connect you have full integration of all inputs.

BTW - just as an aside, I love the fact that the 9000 has only two connections on the back - one for the One Connect integrator and one for power. It's too bad that they couldn't have run power through the One Connect cable to take it down to just one cable. The back of the TV is smooth and clean, which is great because I have it on an extending arm.

Anyhow, just sharing. I hope that helps someone out there, as I often find bits of information in forums such as this that helps me.

Thank you for this schematic and post. It was just what I was looking for. :) -g
