How to connect Emerson tv model LF501EM5F to Harman sb35. Tried using HDMI doesn't work.

HDMI would not work with that TV. It doesn't support HDMI-ARC. Too old,
You can use the headphone out of the TV to the analog "aux" input on the SB35. The cable to do that may be in the soundbar box.

After connecting my Vizio 32 5.1 soundbar to my emerson 50 inch LF501EM5F no sound is coming out the subwoofer only soundbar which volume is low how can I get it to sound like home theater?
