How to connect samsung tv mu6172 to lg 5.1 surround

Can I use speakers from my old lg theatre system to my tv. The tv does not have 3.5 mm, so I can not use aux like I used before. And LG home theatre have hdmi. Can someone explain how I can use speakers for watching tv because I never use anything except aux??

Ideally, could you provide the model of both the TV and the A/V system you wish to use? Are you talking about just speakers, or speakers with a 5.1 surround receiver?

My tv is samsung 50mu6172, thats samsung 6 series 4k smart tv for 2017 year. It is 6100 series for 2017 to be more precise. And my LG is DVD home cinema with model number ht306tq. So it is dvd player with surround system 5.1, actually it have 4 main speakers, subwoofer and one small speaker. Like I said before I was using aux cable to connect to my old tv on headphone jack but now I dont have that one on this tv. So I just want, when I watch movie via usb on my tv to play sound on this speakers. Thanks

Mine is exactly like yours. I can’t work out how to use my surrounding when watching tv. I have fetch n sometimes I watch a movie but would love to listen through the surrounding. Have you worked out yet?

I ordered what I was said to order, and thats toslink digital adapter, but ai couldn't order from amazon because they don't shipping in bosnia so I ordered from ebay and still waiting... when I get adapter I will update how it will work
