How to connect speakers with 3.5 mm jack to powered sub-woofer

Hi

I ran in to a strange situation and I don't have much knowledge in configuring the audio systems. Please help in checking the feasibility of my problem and improving my knowlegde

I was using a 2.1 channel audio system as shown in the below link. The sub-woofer goes directly to the headphone jack of TV. The 2 speakers which combined together to have a single 3.5 mm jack goes to the slot on the back of sub-woofer.

But my sub-woofer got damaged and I got another sub-woofer from my friend. I was expecing this sub-woofer also to be having the same 3.5mm slot to connect my speakers. But it turned out to be the below model. Please check the back side pin for this one

I managed to connect the sub-woofer to head phone jack of TV using a cable and it gives very good bass. But as expected, the audio is not clear. I believe, if I can connect my existing 2 speakers to this new sub-woofer, I can get bass from sub-woofer and audio from the speakers.

Is it possible to connect the speakers with 3.5mm jack to the new sub-woofer. If I cut open the 3.5mm jack and separate out the wires and plug them to sub-woofer, will it work?

THe "Line input" of this subwoofer is mono only. Even if you connect your tiny speakers there, you'll still get mono sound.

Post the model number of that Onkyo, so that we can see what it is for.

If you do that you will get sound but since the satellites would be driven by the headphone amp in the TV they may not play loud enough and you will have cut up the cables to try it.
I would suggest you split the output of the TV with a Y splitter. Connect the Onkyo subwoofer as you already have to one output. The other output would got to the control pod of the Logitech system. This way the amp inside that subwoofer cabinet will drive the satellites.

So, you mean, I have to use a 3.5mm male to 2 3.5mm female adapter as shown in the below link

Then I have to put the male jack to my TV and to the two female jacks, I need to connect sub-woofer and speakers.
But by doing so, still there is no association between sub-woofer and speakers right? I'm a bit confused on this as how the sub-woofer can control the speakers.

I can't find the manual for SKW-10, but similar model SKW-50 seems to have speaker terminals as pass-thru only, without any amplification .

You solution for stereo splitter might work. You'll also need a 3.5mm-to-RCA cable to feed the subwoofer.
