My TV has:

DVI-D input.
RCA input.
Component audio/video input.
S-Video input.

My laptop has VGA out only. No S-Video or HDMI.

Is there any way I can connect my laptop to my TV?

What have I tried already?

I have tried using a vga to dvi-a adapter, where I have bent the extra 4 pins on the dvi-a adapter so it can plug into the dvi-d input on TV. I don't see a picture as a result of this, but my laptop DOES recognize my "Toshiba TV".

I have also done this thing in a reverse setting. I instead used a DVI-D cable with a dvi to vga adapter, but with this I couldn't even get the TV detected unlike my previous attempt.

So what options do I have left to try to get my laptop on the TV?

Thanks
