Fire TV is a great digital media player developed by Amazon. It user friendly and comes with amazing inbuilt features but even this wonderful product can become annoying with its auto playing videos.
Amazon Fire TV has a featured content area which works like a big banner for ads. In this place, if you pause for a long time while scrolling down the main menu, the image at the location becomes a video and starts playing automatically. It goes without saying that it can become annoying over the time but fortunately, Amazon has given an option to disable these videos from auto playing. Here is how you can switch off the autoplay on your Fire TV.
Step 1. Choose ‘Settings’
On the Home Screen of your Amazon Fire TV, choose the tab that says ‘Settings’. This will open up more options inside this tab.
Step 2. Click on ‘Preferences’
Once in settings, scroll to the option ‘Preferences’. On clicking you will find further options.
Step 3. Click on ‘Featured Content’
When you click on preferences, you will see further options, you have to choose ‘Featured Content’.
Step 4. Turn off ‘Allow Video Autoplay’
When you choose ‘Featured Content’, you will see an option that says ‘Allow Video Autoplay’. Toggle it to off.
Now, you have successfully switched off the autoplay on your Fire TV and won’t have to watch any more unwanted videos.
