how to disable touchpad

How can I disable the touchpad. There is no option for devices when I go to Mouse in Control panel. I tried the fn-'f9 but that isn't working.

Do you have the right drivers installed? Look for the hotkey and touchpad drivers on the laptop vendor's support site. May be something in the BIOS setup options as well.
