How to fix a broken wire on my 2009 Toshiba laptop. Screen will not stay on. Assuming it's a wire.

Hi, what the screen is doing, it goes to black or white? Does the screen is intermittent or it stays that way?

if have or can borrow a monitor for testing purposes to see if still has issue on the monitor to locate possible cause of the problem as in screen, video cable to screen or onboard video.

Hello, When I turn it on the screen comes on like it normally would and then it goes black but you can still see the background slightly.

It stays that way until I shut the lid and when I open it back up it repeats itself.

What is the model of your Toshiba, the problem is coming from the inverter or the backlight, or a component on the motherboard.
