How to fix cmos settings wrong with new battery

Hey i am new here and my laptop everytime i turn it on tells me that the CMOS settigs ar wrong and the CMOS date and time are not set. I have changed out the battery, but the problem is still there. I dont know if i am in te wrong thread or not. Will someone point me in the right direction.

if you gone in and hit reset to default in the bios then save and exit and the info not holding..could be a bad cmos chip on the mb or the clip missing on the cmos battery holder....or the battery is in backwards or the battery you installed was dead. I try the easy stuff make sure the battery is in right. most mb i worked on the + side with the cr203 show up and the other side is facing down into the cmos battery slot. check that the battery is in snug and non of the clips are snapped off.

Hi man, i have an assus 990fx r2.0 and i broke one clip so the battery is not completely down from one side , what can i do? i dont want to solder cause i dont know how to do it.

After changing battery, also try to load default value before changing any values in bios settings or the error may occur again after unplug.
